Winter Isn't Done Snow Sunday Night
Most years we are done with snow by now however since the biggest snowfalls this unusual winter have occured after winter ended, it should be no surprise that we are seeing a chance for some snow here in South Central Pennsylvania and North Central Maryland on April 2, 2018.
This is a fast moving wave and the snow falls at night between 1am and 8am. This means this should stick to all surfaces so it is a matter of how much snow we can grind out on the radar. Weather models suggest a quarter of an inch to perhaps a half an inch of liquid is possible but we will lean toward the low end for now and go for the potential for at least a few inches. Snow in April doesn't happen very often this time of year so we don't have a lot of experience with snow systems this time of year. Since the snow is coming at night and there are no sun angle issues obviously, this argues for accumulations especially on colder surfaces and on some roadways. The good news is that this melts fast and much of what falls will likely be gone by Monday afternoon.
