4 Good Days Ahead Into Holiday Weekend..Watching the Tropics
Lately it has been hard to string together more than a day or at most 2 of nice weather. The bulk of the rain has moved on through and we are about to begin a drying process that brings real improvement to our weather In fact we will have 4 days of no rain and sunshine and really nice mid to late day weather to enjoy for the rest of the week and for the first day (Saturday) of the holiday weekend. The satellite picture does show a lot of clouds around but in the Northern Great Lakes you can see clear skies. That sliver of dry air expands over the next several days as high pressure builds into the Northeast & Middle Atlantic States.
Overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning a cold front drops southward from Upstate NY and triggers off some showers and thunderstorms. It also sets up an onshore flow for areas north of the front so temperatures will be about 10 degrees lower and in the 70s. How much cloud cover remains a question as does the chance for showers which we will leave in the forecast for Sunday & Monday at least for now.
To the south there is a ton of tropical moisture all getting fed northward by disturbed weather in the NW Caribbean. This moisture will be heading northward regardless of whether a tropical storm develops or not. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this in his latest post on the tropics.
