Dry Nice Weather But Heatwave Looms Ahead Weekend Into Next Week
We have a beautiful start to the week with low humidity and sunshine. Radars are quiet today and should remain quiet into Wednesday. Tonight looks nice and clear with most lows in the 50s to lower 60s. Tuesday looks nice and sunny with highs in the upper 70s to some lower 80s. Wednesday looks good too though we will see sunshine giving way to arriving clouds with highs again in the upper 70s to some lower 80s. Some showers will start to move in late in the day Wedneday and Wednesday night along with a few thunderstorms as a warm front moves eastward.
This warm front will begin the transition to a hot humid air mass. There will be some showers and thunderstorms Thursday with highs in the 70s to some lower 80s and the humidity obviously will be increasing. Then once this goes by a heatwave will likely start on Friday as temperatures approach the upper 80s to some lower 90s.An upper ridge will build into the Eastern US and hold for next weekend and for most of next week. This could be a 6 or 7 day stretch of highs in the 90s with high humidity and the risk for late day pop up thunderstorms. The ridge is strong so no cold fronts will likely make it through here until late next week. This will carry us through the 4th of July holiday so if this weekend and next week are vacation weeks for you, then you may have timed this well for summer beach weather...FOR MORE ON THE UPCOMING HEATWAVE CHECK OUT THE LATEST POST FROM METEOROLOGISTJOECIOFFI ON WHEN IT STARTS, HOW LONG IT LASTS, AND HOW HOT IS HOT!
