We are catching a bit of a break this afternoon and tonight with respect to the rains of the last 5 days. Some areas saw as much as a foot of rain so needless to say the ground is saturated. In the meantime we sit deep in the humidity and this continues into Friday. A cold front/dry line will be pushing eastward Friday and the Storm Prediction Center has South Central Pennsylvania and North Central Maryland as well as everyone else around us at a slight risk for severe weather on Friday. The good news is that if these storms play out according to plan, they should move through rather quickly and not sit over any one particular area for too long. The downside of course is that even a fast moving thunderstorm could create additional flood issues since everything is soaked.
At least tonight into Friday morning should be quiet. The odd shower can't be ruled out but most of the area will be rain free until Friday afternoon. Once any thunderstorms clear out Friday evening we should see genuine improvement over the weekend. with a slight easing of the humidity on Saturday and a greater easing of humidity on Sunday.
